As Milan Design Week continues, Ma Yansong‘s MAD Architects has unveiled its new “Momentum” installation that brings a shining cubic sculpture to the Italian city.
MAD Architects has dominated Milan Design Week since 2018, having previously exhibited several boundary-breaking artworks that combine multiple art forms. In addition, the imprint has constantly delivered thoughtful structures that speak on multiculturalism and community.
Made in collaboration with Interni, Axa Immobiliare, and Alts, the artwork is meant to freeze time with unique artistic expression that stops you in your tracks. Exhibited during Milan’s Furniture Fair at Statale University, the cube reflects its surrounding environment in the daytime. As nightfall approaches, “Momentum” becomes transparent and is illuminated by vibrant lighting that peeks through its linear design.
